If the mean and standard deviation of a binomial distribution are $12$ and $2$ respectively. Then the value of its parameter $p$ is

\[\begin{array}{1 1}(1)\frac{1}{2}&(2)\frac{1}{3}\\(3)\frac{2}{3}&(4)\frac{1}{4}\end{array}\]

$np= 12$
$\sqrt {npq}=2$
$npq= 4$
$\large\frac{npq}{np} =\frac{4}{12} $
$q= \large\frac{1}{3}$
$p= 1-q=1- \large\frac{1}{3}=\frac{2}{3}$
Hence c is the correct answer.
