A body is moving along a straight line with a constant acceleration and has velocities 6m/s and 8 m/s at points A and B of its path. Find the velocity at mid point of AB

\[(a)\;7 m/s \quad (b)\;6.5 m/s \quad (c)\;5 \sqrt 2 m/s\quad (d)\;6 \sqrt 2 m/s\]

Can you answer this question?

Let $AC=CB=S$
Let $v$ be the velocity at $c$
$v^2-6^2=2as$
$8^2-v^2=2as$
$2v^2=6^2+8^2=100$
$\quad v=\sqrt {50}$
$\qquad =5 \sqrt 2 m/s$
Hence c is the correct answer.
