A machine gun of mass 10 kg fires 30 gm bullet at the rate of 6 bullets per second with a speed of $400 ms^{-1}$ .The force required to hold the gun is

\[(a)\;36 N \quad (b)\;72 N \quad (c)\;54 N \quad (d)\;18 N \]

$Force=mass \times velocity \times number\; of\; bullets$ per unit time
$\qquad= \large\frac{30}{1000}$$\times 400 \times 6$
$=72N$
Hence b is the correct answer.
