For a given material , The young's modulus is 2.4 times that of rigidity modulus. It's Poisson's ratio is ::

\[\begin {array} {1 1} (a)\;1.2 \\ (b)\;1.02 \\ (c)\;0.2 \\ (d)\;2 \end {array}\]

Can you answer this question?

$Y= 2 \eta (1+ \sigma)$
But $Y= 2.4 \;\eta$
$\therefore 2.4 \eta =2 \eta (1+\sigma)$
$(1+ \sigma)=1.2$
$\sigma =0.2$
Hence c is the correct answer.
