$A=[a_{ij}]_{m \times n}$ is a square matrix if

$\begin{array}{1 1} m > n \\ m > n \\ m=n \\ None\;of\;these \end{array}$

Toolbox:
• A square matrix has equal number of rows and columns.
In a square matrix, the number of rows = number of columns. Therefore in a matrix $A_{mxn}$, the number of rows $m$ must = the number of columns $n$. Therefore the correct option is $(C): m = n$.
