Mass of oxygen in oxide=(35.60-16.50)=19.10g
% of metal=$\large\frac{16.50}{35.60}$$\times 100$
$\qquad\quad\;\;=46.3$
% of oxygen=$\large\frac{16.50}{35.60}$$\times 100$
$\qquad\quad\;\;\;\;\;=53.7$
Hence (a) is the correct answer.
