$8g$ of sulphur are burnt to form $SO_2$,which is oxidized by $Cl_2$.The solution is treated with $BaC_2$ solution.The amount of $BaSO_4$ percipitated is

$(a)\;1.0mole\qquad(b)\;0.5mole\qquad(c)\;0.75mole\qquad(d)\;0.25mole$

One mole of $S$ will give 1 mole of $BaSO_4$
Mole of $BaSO_4$ formed =moles of sulphur
$\Rightarrow \large\frac{8}{32}$
$\Rightarrow \large\frac{1}{4}$
$\Rightarrow 0.25$
Hence (d) is the correct answer.
