If $f : R \rightarrow R$ is defined by $f(x)=x^2-3x+2$, write $f(f(x))$.

$\begin{array}{1 1} x^4 -6x^3 -10x^2 -3x \\ x^4 -6x^3+10x^2 -3x \\ x^4+6x^3 -10x^2 +3x \\ x^4 +6x^3 +10x^2 +3x \end{array}$

Toolbox:
  • $f:R \to R \qquad f(f(x))=fof(x)$
$ f(x)=x^2-3x+2$
 
$fof(x)=f(f(x))$
 
$=(x^2-3x+2)^2-3(x^2-3x+2)+2$
 
$=x^4-6x^3+10x^2-3x$
