Toolbox:
  • $(gof)(x)=g(f(x))$
  • $(fog)(x)=f(g(x))$
$ gof(x)=g(f(1))$

$=g(2)=3$

$(1,3) \in gof$

$g(f(3))=g(5)$

$=1$

$(3,1) \in gof$

$g(f(4))=g(1)$

$=3$

$(4,3) \in gof$

$gof=\{(1,3)(3,1)(4,3)\}$

$(fog)(x)=f(g(x))$

$f(g(2))=f(3)$

$=5 ; \qquad (2,5) \in fog$

$f(g(5))=f(1)$

$=2 ; \qquad (5,2) \in fog$

$f(g(1))=f(3)$

$=5 ; \qquad (1,5) \in fog$

$fog=\{(2,5)(5,2)(1,5)\}$
