Why does the solubilities of anhydrous salts decrease with increase in temperature?

(a) $\Delta H _{solution}$ = -ve

(b) $\Delta H _{solution}$ = +ve

  • Anhydrous salts which for hydrates (MgSO$_{4}$ , CuSO$_{4}$ etc..), almost all alkali metal hydroxides and alkaline earth emtal hydroxides dissolve by the evolution of heat i.e. $\Delta H_{solution}$ = -ve .
