Which one of the following is a Bronsted acid but not a Bronsted base?

(a) $H_2S$

(b) $H_2O$

(c) $HCO_3^-$

Answer: $H_2S$
 
$H_2S$ cannot act as a proton acceptor, while $H_2O$ , $HCO^-_3$ and $NH_3$ can act as a donor as well as acceptor of proton.
