If A and B are two matrices of the order $3\times m\;and\;3\times n,$respectively,and m=n,then the order of matrix(5A-2B) is

\[(A)\quad m\times 3\quad(B)\quad 3\times 3\quad (C)\quad m \times n\quad (D)\quad 3\times n\]

1 Answer

Toolbox:
  • If there are m rows and n columns in the matrix, then the matrix is called a matrix of order mxn.
Given:
Order of matrix A=$3\times m$
Order of matrix B=$3\times n$
m=n
Order of matrix(5A-2B)=$3\times n$
Hence D is the right option.
