True or False: If A is skew symmetric matrix, then $A^2$ is a symmetric matrix.

1 Answer

A square matrix A is said to be skew symmetric if $A'=-A$ and symmetric matrix $A'=A $
Consider $A'=-A$
By taking square on both side we get
$(A')^2=(-A)^2 $
$(A')^2= A^2$
$A^2$ is symmetric matrix
