In the circuit shown below ; if 2000 v potential is given to point A, the potential at point B is :


$(A)\; 1500 V \\ (B)\;1000 V \\ (C)\; 500 V \\ (D)\;400 V $

Equivalent capacity b/w $B$ and $C = 15 \mu f$
Equivalent capacity b/w $A$ and $C = \large\frac{5 \times 15}{15 +5}= \large\frac{15}{4}$$ \mu F$
$Q= \large\frac{15}{4}\mu F $$\times 2000 =7500 \mu c$
$V_{AB} =\large\frac{7500}{5} $$=1500 volt$
=> $V_A-V_B= 1500$ ,$V_A= 2000$
=> $V_B= 500 V$
Hence C is the correct answer.
