1. Hepatitis–B and HIV can be transmitted by sharing of injection needles, razors, etc. 2. HIV can be transmitted by using surgical instruments used on for such patients and used after disinfection. 3. Hepatitis–B and HIV can be transmitted by transfusion of blood of an infected person. Regarding 1,2 and 3 :

( a ) 2 is incorrect but 1 and 3 are correct
( b ) 3 is correct but 1 and 2 are incorrect
( c ) 1 is incorrect but 2 and 3 are correct
( d ) 3 is incorrect; 1 and 2 are correct

(A) is the right answer.

Some of these infections like hepatitis–B and HIV can also be transmitted by sharing of injection needles, surgical instruments, etc., with infected persons, transfusion of blood, or from an infected mother to the foetus too. ( Medical instruments are treated in 2% glutaraldehyde for disinfection and those intruments do not transmit HIV)
