1. Oogonia start division and enter into prophase-II of the meiotic division 2. Oogonia get temporarily arrested at that stage are called primary oocytes. 3. Each primary oocyte then gets surrounded by a layer of granulosa cells and is called the primary follicle. Regarding 1,2 and 3 :

( a ) 3 is incorrect; 1 and 2 are correct
( b ) 2 is incorrect but 1 and 3 are correct
( c ) 1 is correct but 2 and 3 are incorrect
( d ) 1 is incorrect but 2 and 3 are correct

(D) is the right answer.

These cells(oogonia) start division and enter into prophase-I of the meiotic division and get temporarily arrested at that stage, called primary oocytes. Each primary oocyte then gets surrounded by a layer of granulosa cells and is called the primary follicle.
