A beam of light strikes a pieces of glass at an angle of incidence of $60^{\circ}$ and the reflected beam is completely plane polarized . The refractive index of glass is

$(a)\;2 \sqrt 3 \\ (b)\;\sqrt 3 \\ (c)\;\sqrt {\frac{3}{2}} \\ (d)\;\frac{\sqrt 3}{2} $

Since the reflected beam is plane polarized
by Brewster's law,
$\mu =\tan \theta$
$\mu= \tan 60$
$\qquad= \sqrt {3}$
Hence b is the correct answer.
