If a gas is made to expand in such a way that its final and initial pressure are equal then which of the following statements cannot be true?

(A) temperature remains constant (B) pressure remains constant (C) pressure increases and then decreases (D) pressure decreases and then increases

The graph can take one of these forms:
Hence, the pressure need not be constant, and can vary. Therefore, (A) (the temperature is constant) is the right answer.
