Two waves from coherent sources $S_1$ and $S_2$ having wavelength $\lambda$ arrive at a point P and complete destructive interference takes place . The path difference between them is

$(a)\;5 \lambda \\ (b)\;\frac{3 \lambda}{4} \\ (c)\;2 \lambda \\ (d)\;\frac{11 \lambda}{2} $

For destructive interference to take place path difference must be odd multiple of $ \large\frac{\lambda}{2}$
$\therefore $ Path difference is $11 \large\frac{\lambda}{2}$
Hence d is the correct answer.
