Find the median of the data 21, 39, 27, 31, 23, 41, 49, 29.

Ans : (D)
First arrange the given data in ascending order of magnitude i.e.,
$ 21, 23, 27, 29, 31, 39, 41, 49$
Here the number of observations is 8
8 - even number
$ \therefore $ Median = mean of $T_{\large\frac{8}{2}}$ and $T_{\large\frac{8}{2}+1}$
$ = \large\frac{1}{2}$ $ [ T_4+T_5]$
$ = \large\frac{1}{2}$ $ [ 29+31]$
$ = 30$
