The quartile deviation of daily wages ( in Rs) of 7 person is 12, 7, 15, 10, 17, 17, 25 is

$\begin {array} {1 1} (A)\;14.5 & \quad (B)\;5 \\ (C)\;9 & \quad (D)\;4.5 \end {array}$

$ n = 7+10+12+15+17+17+25$
$ = 103$
$ Q_1 = $ size of $ \bigg( \large\frac{103+1}{4} \bigg)$ $th$ item = size of 26th item
$ = 12$
$ Q_3 = $ size of 3 $ \bigg( \large\frac{103+1}{4} \bigg)$ $th$ item = size of 18th item
$ = 17$
$ \therefore Q_3-Q_1=17-12$
$=5$
Ans : (B)
