The quartile deviation for the data : \[\] x : 2 3 4 5 6 \[\] f : 3 4 8 4 1

$ N = \Sigma 7 = 20$
$ Q_1 = \bigg( \large\frac{20+1}{4} \bigg)$th $ item = 3
$ Q_2 = \large\frac{3}{4}$ $ ( 20+1)th$ item = 5
$ \therefore Q.D = \large\frac{1}{2}$ $ ( Q_2-Q_1)$
$ = \large\frac{1}{2} $ $ (5-3)$
$ = \large\frac{1}{\not{2}}$ $ \times \not{2}$
$ = 1$
