In LEDs one can see emitted light to because

(a)Light is absorbed to make an electron transition to valance band to create a hole in p-n junction.

(b)electron fills up a hole in p-n junction

(c) electron makes a transition to valance band and hole is created in p-n junction and energy is released as photon.

(d)none of these

1 Answer

When photon is emitted when electron makes a transition to valance band .
Creating a hole in p-n function, if the wavelength of the photon emitted is in the visible range we see light.
Hence c is the correct answer.
