A given sample of ideal gas is made to undergo a process in which the temperature decreases by 10% and the pressure decreases by 8%. By what % does the volume change?

(A) Increases by 22% (B) Decreases by 22% (C) Increases by 2.2% (D) Decreases by 2.2%

Using ideal gas equation, $\large\frac{P_1 V_1}{T_1} $$= \large\frac{P_2 V_2}{T_2} $
$\large\frac{P_1 V_1}{T_1} $ $= \large\frac{0.92 P_1 V_1}{0.90 T_1} $
$\Rightarrow V_2 = \large\frac{0.90 V_1}{0.92} $$=0.978 V_1 \rightarrow$ Pressure decreases by 2.2%
