If in a moderately skewed distribution the value of mode and mean are $ 6 \lambda \: and \: 9 \lambda$ respectively, then value of median is

$\begin {array} {1 1} (A)\;8\: \lambda & \quad (B)\;6\: \lambda \\ (C)\;7\: \lambda & \quad (D)\;5\: \lambda \end {array}$

Mode = 3 median-2 mean
$ 6 \lambda = 3\: median- 18\lambda$
$ 6\lambda=3 \: median-18\lambda$
$ 6\lambda+18\lambda=3 \: median$
$ 24\lambda=3\: median$
$ \large\frac{24\lambda}{3}$ $ = median$
Median = $8 \lambda$
