A line passes through the points $A(1,2)$ and $B(4,+2)$.Find the slope of the line parallel to AB ?

$\begin{array}{1 1}(a)\;\large\frac{4}{3}&(b)\;\large\frac{2}{3}\\(c)\;\large\frac{5}{3}&(d)\;\large\frac{7}{3}\end{array}$

1 Answer

Slope of the line parallel to AB is
$m=\large\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}$
$m=\large\frac{2+2}{4-1}$
$m=\large\frac{4}{3}$
Hence (a) is the correct answer.
