A metallic wire of resistance 12$ \Omega $ is bent to form a square. The effective resistance between two diagonal points would be

$\begin {array} {1 1} (A)\;12\: \Omega & \quad (B)\;24\: \Omega \\ (C)\;6\: \Omega & \quad (D)\;3\: \Omega \end {array}$

The square would look something like the figure above.
It is clear from the figure that the effective resistance is 3 $ \Omega$
