When a substance is dissolved in a solvent, the vapour pressure of the solvent is decreased. This result in

$\begin{array}{1 1}(a)\;\text{the solution having a lower osmotic pressure than the solvent}\\(b)\;\text{the solution having a lower freezing point than the solvent}\\(c)\;\text{an increase in boiling point of the solution}\\(d)\;\text{Both (b) and (c)}\end{array}$

When a non volatile substance is dissolved in a solvent,we will observed depression in freezing point and elevation in boiling point,as per the following definition
$\Delta T_f=iK_fm$
$\Delta T_b=iK_bm$
Hence (d) is the correct answer.
