In the circuit shown in the figure, reading of the voltmeter is V1 when only S1 is closed, V2 when only S2 is closed and V3 when both S1 and S2 are closed. Then

In series connection, potential difference is proportional to R
Resistance when S1 is closed is 3R
Resistance when S2 is closed is 6R
Resistance when both S1 and S2 are closed is 2R
Comparing the resistances gives the correct order
