# A charged particle is moving in a constant magnetic field and at some point it has its velocity vector making an acute angle with the magnetic field. The path of the particle will be

$\begin {array} {1 1} (a)\;Straight\: line & \quad (b)\;ircle \\ (c)\;Helix\: with\: uniform\: pitch & \quad (d)\;Helix\: with\: non-uniform \: pitch \end {array}$

Can you answer this question?

Velocity can be broken into components parallel and perpendicular to the magnetic field.
The parallel component which is constant is responsible for the uniform pitch and the perpendicular component
is responsible for the circular motion. Together these two motions result in a helix with uniform pitch
