The correct statements about the compound: $H_3C(HO)HC - CH = CH -CH(OH)CH_3 (X)$ are:

(i) The total number of stereoisomers possible for X is 6
(ii) The total number of diastreomers possible for X is 3 .
(iii) If the stereochemistry about the double bond in X is trans, the number of enantiomers possible for X is 4.
(iv) If the stereochemistry about the enantiomers possible for X is 2.

$ (a)\;(i) and (iii) \\ (b)\;(i) and (iv) \\ (c)\;(ii) and (iv) \\ (d)\;(iii) and (iv) $

The given molecule conatins 2 stereocentres and one double bond.
So, total number of different combination of stereoisomers is 6.
R cis R
S cis S
R cis S
and
R trans R
S trans S
R trans S
with cis/ trans , it will gave a pair of enantiomers, or two enantiomers.
Hence (i) and (iv)are correct.
Hence b is the correct answer.
