Two bags A and B contain 2 white, 4 red and 3 white, 3 red balls respectively. One of the bags is selected at random and a ball is drawn from it. If the selected ball is of white colour, find the probability that it is drawn from bag A.

The probability of choosing a white ball from bag A is 1/3. The probability of choosing a white ball from bag B is 1/2. The probability of choosing either bags are 1/2 respectively. Hence the probability of chosen white ball is from bag A is (1/2*1/3)/((1/2*1/3)+(1/2*1/2)) =2/5 2/5=0.4
