The statement which are correct regarding benzene are : (i) It has $12 \sigma$ and $3 \pi$ bonds. (ii) There is delocalisation of $\pi$ - electrons. (c) $C-C$ bond distance is $1.39 A^{\circ}$ . (d) $C-C$ bond distance is $1.39 A^{\circ}$ and $1.54\;A^{\circ}$ alternatively .

$ (a)\;(i),(ii)\; and\;(iii) \\ (b) \; (ii),(iii)\;and \;(iv) \\ (c) \;(i),(iii)\;and \;(iv) \\ (d)\;(ii)\;and (iv) $

1 Answer

By structure it is clear that (i) Benzene has $2 \sigma, 3\pi $ bonds
(ii) There is alternate double bonds and single bond there is declocalisation of $\pi$ electrons.
(iii) Because of resonance it has $1.39 A^{\circ}$
Hence a is the correct answer.
