Under critical conditions , the compressibility factor for a gas is

Since $\large\frac{RT_C}{P_CV_C} = \large\frac{8}{3}$
$\therefore Z = \large\frac{P_CV_C}{RT_C} = \large\frac{3}{8}$ (at critical conditions)
Hence answer is (a)
