# A 2.24 litre cylinder containing $O_2$ gas at $27^{\large\circ}C$ and 2 atm is found to develop a leakage was repaired , the pressure dropped to 100cm of Hg at $27^{\large\circ}C$ . The number of moles of gas escaped out during leakage is :

Using PV = nRT
initially $2\times2.24 = n\times0.0821\times300$
$\Rightarrow \;\;\;\; n = 0.182$
Finally $\large\frac{100}{76}\times2.24 = n_1\times0.0821\times300$
$n_1 = 0.120$
$\therefore$ mole given out = 0.182 - 0.120
$\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;=0.062$
