Two balls of equal masses moving with $\;10 \;ms^{-1}\;$ towards each other collide after some time . Considering the collision to be inelastic & mass of each ball to be 1 kg , the thermal energy developed in the process is equal to what?

Answer : (c) $\;100\;J$
Explanation :
Since its an inelastic collision , the velocities reduce to zero
So , the thermal energy developed = kinetic energy lost
$=2 \times \large\frac{1}{2} $$\times 1 \times 10^{2}$$=100 J$
