Acrylonitrile $(CH_2=CH-CN)$ contains an electron with drawing (-CN) group which can stabilize the carbanion intermediate .Since,in anionic polymerisation ,carbanion intermediates are produced, therefore polymerization of acrylonitrile must be carried out under anionic conditions.
Hence (a) is the correct answer.
