An amplitude modulated wave has 800watt of total power content.For 100% modulation the carrier should have power content equal to

$\begin{array}{1 1}(a)\;\text{1000 W}\\(b)\; \text{2000 W}\\(c)\;\text{1500 W}\\(d)\;\text{1600 W}\end{array}$

Power of transmitted AM wave $P_t=xW$
Power of carrier wave $P_c$ after modulation =800W
Modulation $m=100\%$
$x=\large\frac{800\times 3}{2}$
Total power of carrier wave=$1200+800$
$\Rightarrow 2000W$
Hence (b) is the correct answer.
