An amplitude modulated wave has 800watt of total power content.For 100% modulation the carrier should have power content equal to

Power of transmitted AM wave $P_t=xW$
Power of carrier wave $P_c$ after modulation =800W
Modulation $m=100\%$
$P_t=P_c(1+\large\frac{m^2}{2})$
$x=800(1+\large\frac{1}{2})$
$x=\large\frac{800\times 3}{2}$
$x=1200$
Total power of carrier wave=$1200+800$
$\Rightarrow 2000W$
Hence (b) is the correct answer.
