When oxidises with alkaline $KMnO_4$ or acidic $Na_2Cr_2O_7$,the entire side chain (in benzene homologues) with atleast one H at $\alpha$-carbon,regardless of length is oxidised to -COOH.
Hence (d) is the correct answer.
