Benzene does not undergo addition reactions easily because

$\begin{array}{1 1}(a)\;\text{It has a cyclic structure}\\(b)\;\text{Double bonds in it are very strong}\\(c)\;\text{Resonance stabilized system is to be preserved}\\(d)\;\text{It has six hydrogen atoms}\end{array}$

Can you answer this question?

$\pi$-electrons of benzene ring are delocalised through out the molecule, which makes the molecule very stable. The addition reactions would result in the breaking of this delocalizations (i.e) the stability of molecule is destroyed.
Hence (c) is the correct option.
