# Which of the following terms are also called as chemisorption ?

$(a)\;Deactivating\;agent\qquad(b)\;Activated\;adsorption\qquad(c)\;Reduced\;adsorption\qquad(d)\;Activated\;absorption$

## 1 Answer

Answer : Activated adsorption
Explanation :
Let us consider the example of adsorption of $\;H_{2}\;$ gas on the surface of nickel or platinum . Due to unbalanced forces on the surface of the solid , the hydrogen molecules are attracted towards it by weak vanderwalls force and hence get adsorbed on it .
The adsorbed molecules then dissociate into atoms and are chemisorbed and hence some activation energy , the process is also called activated adsorption .
