Graft rejection occurs due to

( a ) blood group mismatch
( b ) cell mediated response
( c ) Both A and B
( d ) humoral response

1 Answer

Graft from any source an animal another primate or any human beings cannot be made since grafts would be rejected sooner or later. Tissue matching and blood group matching are essential before undertaking any graft/transplant and even after this, patients need to take immuno suppresants all his/her life. The body is able to differentiate "self" and "non self" due to cell mediated immune response which is responsible for graft rejection.
