In the plasma membrane, the orientation of the lipids is such that

( a ) the polar head faces outside which the non-polar tail faces inside
( b ) the polar head faces inside which the non-polar tail faces outside
( c ) the non-polar head faces inside which the polar tail faces outside
( d ) the non-polar head faces outside which the polar tail faces inside

(A) is the right answer.

the head is polar and its orientation is outside so that it cant interact with the aqueous solvent while the tail is hydro-phobic-- "meaning repels water".. so must be oriented towards the inner side
