the diplotene stage is characterised by the presence of

( a ) recombination nodules
( b ) tetrads
( c ) synaptoemal complex
( d ) chiasmata

1 Answer

Diplotene is recognised by the dissolution of synaptonemal complex and the tendency of the recombined homologus chromosomes of the bivalents to seperate from each other except at the site of the cross overs which are "x"shaped structures called "Chiasmata". Hence, presence of chiasmata marks the diplotene stage.
