The specific heat of a metal is 0.11 and its equivalent weight is 18.61.Its exact atomic weight is

$\begin{array}{1 1}(a)\;58.2& (b)\;29.1\\(c)\;55.83& (d)\;27.91\end{array} $

1 Answer

At.wt $\times$ sp.heat=6.4(approx)
$\therefore$ Approx atomic wt=$\large\frac{6.4}{0.11}$$=58.1$
Now,valency =$\large\frac{\text{}}{Eq.wt}=\frac{58.1}{18.61}$$=3$
Exact at.wt=Eq.wt $\times$ valency
$\Rightarrow 3\times 18.61=55.83$
Hence (c) 55.83 is the correct answer.

Hahaha you divided 58.1 by 18.61 and get 3. Ok( approx = 3.12).
But when u multiplied 18.61 by 3 you get 55.83... how...???

a/b =c
c×b = a (should be...) but you hahaha....
