Moles of unknown gas=moles of $N_2$(Avogadro's hypothesis)
$\large\frac{0.44}{M}=\frac{0.28}{28}$
$\therefore M=\large\frac{0.44\times 28}{0.28}$$=44$
Hence (b) is the correct answer.
