For an endothermic reaction where $\Delta H$ represents the enthalpy of the reaction in $kj/mol$. the minimum value for the energy of activation will be

$(A)\;\text{Less than $\Delta H$} \\ (B)\;\text{zero} \\(C)\;\text{More than $\Delta H$} \\(D)\;\text{Equal to $\Delta H$} $

1 Answer

For a reaction :
$Ea_{FR}=\Delta H +Ea_{BR}$
For endothermic reaction ;$\Delta H =$ positive thus $E_{a\;FR} > \Delta H$
For exothermic reaction ;$\Delta H =$ negative thus can be said.
Hence c is the correct answer.
