Let h(x) = [f(x)]^2+[g(x)]^2 Differentiating with r. T. x, we have h'(x) =2f(x).f'(x)+2g(x).g'(x) =2f(x).g(x) - 2f(x).g(x)=0 i.e. h(x) is constant. h(24)=h(2) so h(24)=[f(2)]^2 +[g(2)]^2 =4^2 +4^2 =16+16=32.Ans.
