Assertion (A): All copulations lead to fertilisation and pregnancy. Reason (R): Fertilisation can occur if the ovum and sperms are transported simultaneously to the ampullary-isthmic junction. Regarding (A) and (R):

( A ) Both A and R are correct but R is not the correct explanation for A
( B ) A is incorrect but R is correct
( C ) A is correct but R is incorrect
( D ) Both A and R are correct & R is the correct explanation for A

(B) is the right answer.

Fertilisation can only occur if the ovum and sperms are transported simultaneously to the ampullary-isthmic junction. This is the reason why not all copulations lead to fertilisation and pregnancy.
