1. Concentration gradient(high to low concentration) for oxygen is from tissues to blood and blood to alveoli. 2. Concentration gradient(high to low concentration) is present for CO2 (in the opposite direction) from alveoli to blood and blood to tissues. Regarding 1 and 2 :


( A ) 1 is correct but 2 is incorrect
( B ) 1 is incorrect but 2 is correct
( C ) Both are correct
( D ) Both are incorrect

(D) is the right answer.

There is a concentration gradient for oxygen from alveoli to blood and blood to tissues. Similarly, a gradient is present for CO2 in the opposite direction, i.e., from tissues to blood and blood to alveoli.
